Dr. Madanmohan Rao is the research director of YourStory.in, India’s leading online platform for startups and investors. He is the editor of over 12 books spanning five book series including The Asia Pacific Internet Handbook, The Knowledge Management Chronicles, World of Proverbs, Global Citizen and AfricaDotEdu. His most recent book is ‘Global Mobile: Innovations and Applications for the Worldwide Mobile Ecosystem.” Madan is also a co-founder of the Bangalore K-Community, a network of knowledge management professionals, and a DJ and columnist in world music and jazz.
 
Madan was formerly the communications director at the United Nations Inter Press Service bureau in New York, vice president at IndiaWorld Communications in Bombay, and research director at the Asian Media Information and Communications Centre in Singapore. He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology at Bombay and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, with an M.S. in computer science and a Ph.D. in communications. Madan is a frequent speaker on the international conference circuit, and has given talks and lectures in over 80 countries around the world.
